Royal Rally – Thunder Run Contest Terms & Conditions
Royal Rally is not a race. You must drive safely and responsibly with respect to both participants and members of the public. You must comply with local laws and regulations and at no time be driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Royal Rally staff reserves the right to refuse further participation in the rally for any single violation of the foregoing or of any terms and conditions contained herein. Any tickets or expenses incurred, outside of the standard entry fee will be the contest winner’s responsibility.
Royal Rally and Oraizen Automotive accept no responsibility for the consequences of you being cited, charged, prosecuted or ejected from any venue/location. The contest winner accepts full responsibility for damage to the rented vehicle or any third-party vehicle.
You must obtain and maintain all appropriate forms of insurance and be able to produce documentation. You must have legal and valid vehicle registration with your name matching on registration. You must also hold a current valid driver’s license.
The contest winner must be at least 18 years old on or before September 14, 2019. We recommend all team members be 18 years of age, or older, to fully participate in the rally. We may visit venues for meals or checkpoints that will not allow minors. No refunds will be given if you are unable to participate fully in the event due to the age of your teammate(s).
The winner of the contest will receive the Royal Rally – Thunder Run experience, including meals, checkpoints and activities, apparel and the experience of a lifetime. The prize is valued at $450. The rally takes place on September 14, 2019, starting at 9 a.m. and finishing at approx. 7 p.m. The winner will also receive an optional 24 hour rental of a BMW I8 from Oraizen Automotive in Edmonton, AB. You will be required to pick up and drop off the BMW I8 from Edmonton, AB. The winner may refuse the BMW I8 rental if they so choose. However, the winner’s vehicle must comply with Royal Rally’s vehicle entry standards. No minivans, pickup trucks or commuter cars are allowed. Vehicles must be performance or luxury cars. If the winner’s vehicle does not meet the rally’s requirements and the winner refuses to drive the BMW I8 on the rally, a new winner will be picked.
Pick-Up & Drop-Off
The BMW I8 must be picked up and returned to Oraizen Automotive in Edmonton, AB. The vehicle must be picked up and brought to Calgary for decal installation and must be returned to Oraizen Automotive, in Edmonton, without rally decals.
The vehicle must be brought to decal installation at House of Cars Barlow Trail or Airdrie (TBD) on Friday, September 13 before 9 p.m.
Oraizen Automotive requires that the renter provide a $5,000 refundable damage deposit prior to picking up the vehicle. The damage deposit will be refunded once the vehicle is returned. If damages are incurred on the vehicle, the deposit amount reflecting the damage will be kept by Oraizen Automotive.
You must conduct yourself appropriately at all times, keeping in mind the rules and regulations of venues we visit along the way. This contest does not cover personal expenses incurred, including but not limited to: gas, tickets, park passes, snacks, etc.
You will indemnify Royal Rally, Oraizen Automotive, Royal Rally’s sponsors, partners and all employees against any and all claims, lawsuit and cause of action brought against them by a third party as a result of your action or participation in the event.
Royal Rally, and all employees are not responsible if it cannot fulfill their obligations resulting from contracts (including but not limiting the hosting of the rally or any portion of the rally) including but not limited to an act of God or any other cases defines as Force Majeure by the laws and regulations.
Royal Rally Branding
You agree to have the Royal Rally logo and official event sponsor stickers/decals placed on your vehicle for the duration of the entire event. Stickers/decals are to remain clean and clearly visible at all times. Stickers/decals are made for temporary use on vehicles, therefore organizers are not responsible for claims for damage to vehicle body. You shall not be entitled to use the Royal Rally logo for any purpose (other than placing sticker on your vehicle) without obtaining prior written consent from the organizer. You must arrive to decal installation on Friday, September 13, with your vehicle unbranded unless previously cleared with the event organizers. The vehicle must be returned to Oraizen Automotive with all decals removed.
No refunds of the entry fee will be made under any circumstances at any point during or after the event.
Once the contest winner is selected, the prize cannot be redeemed or traded. The transaction will be considered final. If you are unable to attend the event, a new winner will be selected. No refunds will be processed for contest donations.
This contest is governed as a crowd-funded giveaway. This is not a lottery or any form of online gambling. Funds will be raised to cover the costs of this contest and will be considered crowd-funded donations.
If you violate any terms and conditions or refuse to follow instructions from the organizer during the event, you may be refused further participation in the event.
Media and Confidentiality
By participating in the event you consent to being photographed and filmed by the media. You hereby waive the any and all rights of publicity or privacy and grant the organizer full and complete permission to use your appearance in the event in any manner for promotional purposes. You are entitled to take photographs and video for the sole purpose of personal and private use only. You shall not be entitled to arrange or conduct media appearances including release of statements to media regarding event without obtaining prior written consent from the organizer. You agree to keep confidential and not disclose and details of all incidents that occur during the event to third parties.
The draw will take place via live stream on or about September 1, 2019. If 50 contest spots are not filled before September 1, 2019, the contest will be terminated and and all donations will be refunded. The draw will take place within 24 hours of the final spot being filled in the contest roster. The draw date may be changed depending on how quickly the contest fills up. In the case the contest reaches 50 entries on, or before August 1, a second entry contest will be run subsequently.
This contest is not limited to 50 entries. We require a minimum of 50 entries in order to run the contest. There is no maximum number of entries for this contest.
All proceeds from this contest will be donated to Accelerate Change charities.
Change of Terms
The organizer reserves the right to change these terms and conditions from time to time subject to notifying participants of the changes. You shall be deemed to have accepted the amended terms and conditions by participating in this contest.
These Terms and Conditions of Entry, the Waiver and the Entry Requirements Form constitute the whole agreement between the parties and supersede any previous arrangement, understanding or agreement reached between the parties whether in oral or written form.
