On September 2 & 3, 40 teams from all over Alberta and Saskatchwewan met at Ens Lexus in Saskatoon for the official start line of the Royal Rally – Prairie Run event. Teams came from as far as Calgary, Fort McMurray and Regina to participate in the weekend event, starting in Saskatoon.
Teams checked in at the dealership, received their rally apparel, decals and instructions on how the event would run before being handed their route card for the day, detailing their checkpoint locations for the morning driving leg.
Teams were tasked with finding Timberjaxe for an axe throwing competition, Batoche Historical Site, bonus checkpoint to find a mural in Duck Lake and the Northern Lights Casino in Prince Albert to the VIP lounge for blackjack, before finishing the day at the Elk Ridge Resort on Waskesiu Lake.
Prairie Run teams were treated to a deluxe 5-star dinner at the resort, complete with live entertainment and an evening full of socializing before day 2.
The start line for day 2 was at the Elk Ridge Resort on Waskesiu Lake, where teams were handed their route card for the second official day of Royal Rally!
For day 2, teams visited Height of the Land Tower in Waskesiu, then to Shell Lake to find the War Memorial on Memorial Hill. Teams then drove to to Petrofka Orchard for pulled pork sandwiches, and to find the Wise One tree in the orchard, then a final stop at the Western Development Museum in Saskatoon.
The event concluded at Ens Lexus where the official rally awards were handed out to some of the most deserving teams in Royal Rally history!
