The Hunt: A Scavenger Hunt Road Rally with a Cash Prize!

Join us for The Hunt, an exciting scavenger hunt road rally where teams will navigate using clever clues and riddles to uncover secret locations. At each stop, participants will complete a task or answer trivia to collect the numbers needed to crack a combination for a hidden safe. Full of cash, the safe holds the ultimate grand prize!

The event is split into two thrilling legs:

  • Morning Leg (approx. 250km) – A trial run where teams compete for advantages in the afternoon hunt by solving the combination to the morning safe. Teams will then break for lunch, unwind and prepare for the afternoon hunt!
  • Afternoon Leg (approx. 250km) – The ultimate hunt! Teams will use their skills and strategies from the morning leg to solve the combination and find the hidden safe with cash inside.

Each leg features a unique safe combination. Teams who crack the code during the morning leg will earn an advantage for the afternoon competition!

How it Works:

  • At the start line, teams will be given a task to solve. Once they solve it, they will receive their route card from the crew and will depart in search of five checkpoints.
  • At each checkpoint, teams will complete a task and will leave each stop with a number.
  • At the final stop, teams will receive a cypher to help them order their five collected numbers. Teams will then receive a second route card with a riddle, to locate the safe.
  • Each team gets ONE shot at cracking the combination, unless they opt for the enhanced entry package, where they receive a second attempt to crack the combination.
  • For the morning leg, all teams who crack the combination will receive an advantage for the afternoon leg.
  • The same format will be repeated for the afternoon leg, but this time the safe will be stuffed with cash!

Important Notes:

  • Last time we hosted The Hunt, it was the 12th team to attempt the combination, who cracked the code and won the grand prize—it’s not about speed; it’s about accuracy and strategy!
  • To discourage speeding, no one will receive the riddle to the safe’s location until a designated time, ensuring a level playing field for all participants.

Lunch:

After the morning leg concludes, teams will break for a flavourful lunch at the Hawk Tail Brewery in Rimby, AB, allowing teams to unwind and reassess their strategies. Lunch is included in the event entry fee.

The Prize:

The jackpot grows as more teams sign up. Jackpot contributions vary depending on your registration level.

Below is the minimum jackpot estimate based on registration:

  • 30 teams: $1,000
  • 40 teams: $1,500
  • 50 teams: $2,000
  • 60 teams: $2,500

This year, The Hunt proudly supports Luna Child & Youth Advocacy Centre, with a portion of proceeds being donated. Luna is a Calgary-based nonprofit that helps children and youth who have experienced abuse.
